Most of my runs end in death, but I have managed to kill mom's heart 4 times. My biggest weakness with action roguelikes is my lack of hand-eye coordination or my complete lack of childhood gaming experience. But I've always really enjoyed other more strategy focused roguelikes, like the Darkest Dungeon. At least with Hades, another action roguelike, you have the ability to sprint quickly in a direction, but I am also well aware this is a skill issue. I'm a little burnt out as of now, since I was spending HOURS a day grinding this game, so I'm not playing it as much as I'd like, but I'm sure I will get back in to it and hopefully have something click!
I really enjoy the feeling this game evokes, it has some great horror vibes which is always a plus for me. The only reason I haven't been grinding this game quite as hard as the others here is simply because I have a really hard time holding the amount of blanks vs. live rounds and any known future shots in my head. A skill issue, and one fixed by just writing it down but I'm stubborn and only accepted this recently, so hopefully I'll be able to report back that I've now been able to win more than twice in double or nothing mode.
Now this one, I have been grinding like crazy. I'm not really into gambling or slots in real life, but I guess something about the vibes or maybe just the roguelike aspects are what hooks me. My toilet percent is 54%, with one rainbow holographic memory card and one ascension under my belt. I did have to look up how to progress tbh, but I'm really excited to keep playing and see just how far I can push it!
The newest on this list, and so far I have not made much progress at all. I can reach the first chamber boss about 50% of the time, and succeed about 30% of the time. My main issue is for sure just taking too much damage. Again, I am going to blame my lack of childhood video game playing. There's something so satisfying about it, I really enjoy the gunplay, the designs, the animation, and the hints at a larger world and story.
